ACT announces 2008-2009 seasonLongest-running Off Broadway Musical ever!
Book and Lyrics by Tom Jones; Music by Harvey Schmidt Performances: 8:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, ROMANTIC AND DELIGHTFUL! Reminisce with us to the melodies of "Try to Remember" and "Soon it's Gonna Rain." This simple but still sophisticated tale of young love is a timeless fable that's both nostalgic and universal. A classic coming-of-age story, The Fantasticks features two meddling, matchmaking fathers who scheme to get their children together. What the young people learn of life from El Gallo's demonstration brings them together even more surely than the fathers dreamed. Off-Broadway audiences kept the show on stage for more than 17,000 performances. When The Fantasticks closed shortly after 9/11/2001, the theme of lost innocence echoed powerfully with people who saw the final shows. The score also includes "Never Say No," "Plant a Radish," "I Can See It," "Much More," "Round and Round," and "They Were You." Directed by Lauren R. Hugg, with Musical Direction by Bill Bland and Choreography by Kathy Windle, here's our cast:
